It’s easy to see the bright side when you’re surrounded by a loving community. Every day, advisor Kyle Fenrich sees the joy that Robin Hood Association (RHA) brings to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.
“There is one individual who walks from my neighborhood for 20 minutes every morning to visit the centre as his most favorite thing in the world,” says Kyle. “Doesn’t matter if there’s rain or snow, he walks with the biggest smile on his face.”
Headquartered just outside of Edmonton, RHA has been a staple of the Sherwood Park community since 1963.
For youth and their families, it provides development and behavioural support, tailored activities and programming, and respite services, bringing meaningful experiences to children and peace of mind to their parents.
For adults, RHA connects them with shared homes and host families, respite services, and day services, like employment opportunities and recreational programming, to help individuals become more independent, build hands-on skills, and foster a connection to community.
“There are so many people who feel they have a purpose in life knowing they can drop into the centre each day to learn and have fun in a safe environment with the people who care about them,” says Kyle.
The most recent donation by Kyle and the team at J.P. Fenrich Financial Services Inc. is focused on the Empowerment Project, RHA’s $4 million campaign to upgrade and revitalize its facilities to better serve the over 100 adults that rely on it every day.
Kyle is the local advisor for Chambers Plan group benefits in Edmonton, AB. The Plan’s administrator, Johnston Group, was excited to help share his story and match his contribution through their Advisor Charitable Match Program, which is designed to support charitable organizations that are having a direct impact on their local communities.
