Advisor Charitable Match

A place for teens to just be teens

Johnston Group created the Advisor Charitable Match Program to team up with our advisors across the country who are supporting community initiatives that make a difference.

Only 1 in 5 at-risk youth will ask for help, says the Swift Current Community Youth Initiative. That’s why helping their space  The Center  grow was an easy decision for Chambers Plan advisor Zenon Zemluk.

“It’s a caring, non-judgmental safe place for kids to grow,” says Zenon. “And if they want to just crash and hang out like kids, they can.”

The Center welcomes teens and preteens with a range of amenities, from a gaming area and stage for karaoke to a recording studio and more. Youth can get a homemade meal, join one of the many weekly activities like art club and Dungeons & Dragons, or simply relax.

And, thanks to continued support, The Center has evolved to provide free youth and family counselling, tutoring, mentorship, and even paid job experience through its café, The Center Perk.

Swift Current locals proudly rally behind The Center, joining fundraisers like chili cook-offs and the Coldest Night of the Year walk. Even the WHL’s Swift Current Broncos pitch in, and many of the young players from out of province get the chance to build a sense of community.

“Zenon has been an incredible friend and resource to our organization,” says Nathan Wiebe, executive director of the Swift Current Community Youth Initiative. “Our supporters’ care and passion for helping those within our walls is something we are truly grateful for.”

Zenon is a local advisor for Chambers Plan employee benefits in Saskatoon, SK. The Plan’s administrator, Johnston Group, was excited to help share his story and match his contribution through their Advisor Charitable Match Program, which is designed to support charitable organizations that are having a direct impact on their local communities.
