Business Analyst

This role operates within our highly collaborative Operational Excellence – Business Analysis functional group, responsible for the delivery of new core functionality, enhancements, and defect fixes within the suite of Johnston Group applications, its ecosystem and other enterprise applications.

As the successful candidate, you are a strategic, collaborative problem solver. You’ll engage stakeholders to document business requirements, participate in solution design and support the timely delivery of quality software. You’ll be involved in quality assurance, process improvements and support. You will be instrumental in optimizing critical business processes and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

*Hybrid working model based out of our Winnipeg, MB office, with three days in-office per week.

Qualifications:

  • College or University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Certification in CCBA/CBAP® (Certified Business Analysis Professional) is considered an asset
  • 5 years’ experience working in a Business Analyst role
  • Experience with project software such Atlassian and Microsoft products
  • Experience with Systems Development Life Cycle, preferably in an Agile or Iterative environment
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to engage various stakeholder groups
  • Exceptional written communication and documentation skills with ability to produce clear and concise business and process requirements and functional specifications
  • Proficient in data analysis with strong capabilities in Excel and PowerBI
  • Certification and/or experience with Lean (or continuous quality improvement methodology) and/or Agile is an asset
  • Experience in Change Management/Project Management is considered an asset
  • Knowledge and experience in the insurance industry is considered a significant asset
