The Junior Benefits Utilization Analyst is responsible for the initial review and triage of potential fraud, abuse, or irregular benefit claims. This role performs preliminary analysis of referrals, tips, and audits to determine whether claims can proceed or require escalation to a Senior Analyst for full investigation. The position supports the organization’s commitment to protecting plan assets while ensuring fair and timely claims processing.
The volume of caseload can vary from day to day therefore the ideal candidate must be able to manage and prioritize their workload accordingly.
*Hybrid working model based out of our Winnipeg, MB office, with three days in-office per week.
Qualifications:
- Experience processing group insurance health and dental claims
- Experience in a fraud-related field would be considered an asset
- Background in customer service is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to adapt to change quickly
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and active-listening skills
- Sound decision making skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Demonstrated commitment to integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle competing priorities; strong organizational skills
- Strong team player; ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to communicate fluently in French and English (oral and written) is considered an asset
